The forest does not sleep just because the sun has chosen to, and even in the dead of night your path is unalone. Birds and animals of the dark pass through trees and sing their presence, aided only by the wind and the chorus of crickets that've sprung wide from the leaves. And, every so often, in the distance, you hear something larger. Something more. The shroud is yet awake, this evening.
